When one thinks of the history of small family farms in the United States, one imagines hardworking family members committed to a particular way of life as much as making a living. Most Americans view family farms as being central to an identity rich in heritage and tradition. And although modern farming technologies may have overtaken older ways of doing things, there is one dairy farm in Ohio that holds true to its traditional roots. Minerva Dairy, entering into its sixth generation of being family-owned-and-managed, takes pride in producing quality butter and cheese.

J.D. & Billy Hines Trucking was established by J.D. Hines in 1936 in the humblest of beginnings. With one truck, the company served the Prescott region offering log, lumber, and gravel hauling. By 1969, J.D. Hines partnered with his son, Billy Hines, investing in additional equipment as the company grew. In 1976, this father-son partnership was incorporated into its current company name, often referred to as HTI.

Founded in 2008 by George Franczyk, an owner-operator with twenty years of experience, the company has a fleet of seventy-two trucks with seventy-five drivers operating within the lower forty-eight states and into Canada. Sharco also has warehouse facilities in Burton, Michigan, forty miles to the north.
