High profile projects of the company include the Ritz Tower in Sarasota, The Promenade shopping center in Bonita Springs, Longboat Key’s Vizcaya mid-rise, Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club in Naples, the Philharmonic Center of the Arts and the Naples Art Museum.

BCBE Construction has left a substantial footprint on the Florida landscape, constructing over 150 beachfront high-rises in locations that stretch the length of the peninsula, from Jacksonville all the way down to Miami. Two current projects of note are Seaglass and Naples Square, both of which are being carried out for developer Ronto Group. Located in the heart of downtown Naples, Naples Square’s first building will feature 73 units and seven different two-and three-bedroom floorplans featuring coastal contemporary design. Amenities include a heated pool and spa, gas fire table with seating, a leading edge fitness center, building management, secure under-building parking, a club room with a bar, and a terrace featuring large-screen TVs. MHK Architecture and Planning of Naples is handling architectural design, while Renee Gaddis Interiors of Naples is in charge of interior design. Naples Square’s Finishing Touches Program provides homeowners with the opportunity to select countertops, flooring, cabinetry, door hardware, plumbing fixtures, paint colors, and lighting fixtures.

The 120 unit, 26 storey Seaglass is going up in Bonita Springs’ Bonita Bay community as a fully completed, ready for occupancy tower. Ranging from 2,889 to 3,421 square feet, residences will have multiple outdoor spaces, as well as an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill. Penthouse units measure a generous 4,600 square feet and will boast a gourmet kitchen, sizable great room, four-and-a-half baths, and a choice of three or four bedrooms. Residences and penthouses will both feature premium finishes selected by Renee Gaddis Interiors. Homeowners will enjoy access to a rooftop amenity deck with entertainment space and stunning Gulf views, and additional amenities include card and club rooms, a theater, guest suites, a fitness facility with steam and massage rooms, a resort-style walk-in pool and spa, and a deck with a covered cabana, bar, and grill. Designed by high-rise tower architect Santiesteban & Associates, residence and penthouse floor plans are currently available for viewing at the sales center.

In 2008, BCBE Construction built AQUA at Pelican Isle in Naples, and the team was recently recruited to construct a second luxury residential tower for the condominium community. The 11 storey, 32 unit high rise will feature soaring ceilings, sunlit back-to-front living areas, master suites with posh bathrooms and spacious closets, gourmet kitchens with gas cooktops, and terraces offering sweeping views of the Gulf of Mexico, Yacht Harbor, and natural preserves. AQUA amenities and perks include a sky lounge, 29 slip yacht basin, resort style pool, a movie theater, secure parking, a full-time concierge, and a fitness center with an aerobics room, steam and dry saunas, and spa.

BCBE also handles large scale accommodation projects, from high rise hotels to sprawling resorts. Healthcare construction and renovation is another company specialty and BCBE’s portfolio includes projects such as Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, Collier Neurological Center, Montgomery Eye Center, Lake City VA Medical Center ICU renovation, North Naples Community Hospital Tower Lobby, and Naples Community Hospital Corridor remodel. BCBE also specializes in shopping centers, office complexes, churches, world-class cultural facilities, and elegant clubhouses for Florida’s luxury condominium communities. The educational market is another company focus, with projects covering everything from county and private schools to universities.

Interiors are also a BCBE specialty, and the company boasts a division dedicated to commercial and residential interior finishing and remodeling. Interiors by BCBE Construction LLC provides a full scope of services, from condominium and commercial build-outs to putting in customized cabinetry for private homeowners. “Anything that has to do with remodeling or finishing out a building, BCBE can do,” the company website states.

No matter what the build, BCBE is mindful of the impact to the environment and the team has been involved in numerous projects that were awarded LEED certification. One notable recent green build is a custom contemporary home with solar electric, solar hot water, rooftop garden, thermally broken insulated impact glass windows and doors, and a charging station for electric vehicles.

BCBE’s work has earned the company a winning reputation and multiple recognitions. One of the most recent recognitions came from Houzz, a leading platform for home remodeling and design, with the Best of Houzz 2015 award for design. Essentially a people’s choice award, recipients are determined by the millions of homeowners, home design enthusiasts and home improvement professionals around the world that make up the Houzz community.

BCBE has also been chosen as the General Contractor for the 2015 Golf Magazine National Dream House in Naples, Florida, located on the 14th hole of Talis Park’s Greg Norman-Pete Dye designed golf course. Built in partnership with Weber Design Group, Interiors by Design West, and Sunwest Homes, the two storey, 10,297 square foot dream home will include four bedrooms, four full baths, a formal living room, large island kitchen, study with dual-sided fireplace, wine room, two radial wet bars, upstairs game room, an outdoor kitchen and a three car garage, as well as a separate golf cart garage. This luxury home with Caribbean flair is designed to capture the essence of tropical Florida’s indoor and outdoor living and will showcase BCBE’s quality workmanship.

A solid history and strong management team laid the foundation for BCBE’s current success. The company got its start when two well-established construction companies, Boran and Craig Construction and F.B. Schreck Construction Co., worked together on a project in the early 1970s, forming Boran Craig Schreck Construction Co out of the collaboration. In 1986, Don Barber came on as a Partner and President, bringing new talent and ideas to the table and leading to the creation of a new business, Boran Craig Barber Construction Co. Ten years later, Melvin Engel joined the team as President, revamping the company once again to become Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction Co. and rounding out a talented management team. The company’s final transformation came in 2011, when the business was renamed BCBE Construction LLC due to partners retiring.

Throughout BCBE’s name changes and executive management reshuffling, the company has remained true to its core principles of honesty, integrity, and efficiency. “Our commitment remains to provide service, integrity and excellence in every project we build,” the company website states. “Our responsibility to our clients is to provide quality construction, budget awareness and on-time performance.”

Moving forward, BCBE is eager to continue putting clients first. According to the company website, “clients’ needs continue to be top priority and the motivating strength in all of our daily activities.” Management understands that client satisfaction can only be achieved if the entire team pulls their weight, so BCBE Construction takes care to only hire the best talent. As a result, no detail is overlooked, no stone left unturned in the effort to deliver superior quality and top notch customer service. As the company values state, “From landmark buildings to lanais, BCBE Construction LLC treats every project like it’s our own home. Each client is a priority and each building is a masterpiece in the making. It’s important to you; it’s important to us.”
