Procon Announces CEO Appointment

Procon Group of Companies is pleased to announce the appointment of John McVey as Chief Executive Officer effective August 10, 2015.

John is an accomplished engineering and construction business leader with a 30+ year track record of delivering challenging projects in the resource and energy sectors across Canada and Internationally. He brings a great mix of project execution and operational experience, technical breadth, and passion for
safety and customer care.

Prior to joining Procon, John served as Country Manager for Bechtel Canada Co. with responsibility for mining and metals projects in North America. His previous roles have included President of Bantrel Co. based in Calgary and Director of Operations for SNC‐Lavalin’s Industrial Division in Toronto.

John holds B.A.Sc and M.A.Sc degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a member of PEO and APEGA.

In the world of renewable energy, wind power is growing fast. It is projected that 10 percent of the energy generated in the United States will come from wind farms by 2020. Offshore wind farms are a relatively new addition to the American energy market, but the technology has been well established in Europe and is now taking off state-side as well.
